Joseph Velarde serves as the lead pastor of Riverbend Community Church. He is originally from Atlanta, GA. As an intern at Northstar Church, God started working on his heart about church planting. He graduated from Baptist Bible College with a B.S. in Bible and Communications. He has served as a youth pastor for three years at Salem Bible Church in Macungie, Pa. He also has worked as a campus pastor at The Journey Church in New York City. He currently is working the Interim Youth Pastor at Faith Evangelical Church in Allentown. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and watching sports. Joseph is married to his beautiful college sweetheart Amy. They were married in 2004 and currently live in Allentown, PA.

Amy Velarde takes care of the Impressions and Environment at Riverbend.  She works to be sure signage is clear & helpful and the atmosphere is welcoming & worshipful.

Ryan Knepp - Elder

Ryan Knepp is a life-long resident of the Lehigh Valley. After graduating from high school, Ryan earned a degree in Psychology and Communication from Muhlenberg College. More importantly, he met his wife of nearly 5 years, Lindsey. After graduating, Ryan went on to work in sales, mental health, and youth ministry for over two years where he met Shad and Joseph. Now Ryan stays busy with sports, the outdoors, and his son, Jonathan. Ryan is now working as a full time social worker in Allentown. Lindsey is currently a full-time student working on a master's degree in Public Health.

Robbin Hunsberger has been working in ministry settings for the past number of years. God has called and used her in Christian camps, Bible studies, life-on-life discipleship, and most recently as the Office Administrator at Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church here in the Lehigh Valley. She initially saw her calling using her culinary expertise, graduating with a degree from the Culinary Institute of America. She now uses her organizational gifting to keep us all in line and her love of the outdoors to build relationships through hiking and ultimate Frisbee.

Jessee Velarde - RiverRocks

Jesse Velarde leads the RiverRocks Children's Minstry. He works as a teacher in the Allentown School District. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he has served in children's ministry, and has tons of drama, and music experience. Prior to his arrival in Allentown, he worked as an elementary school teacher in Georgia, and has also taught in Virginia and Washington D.C. Jesse is a graduate of Kennesaw State University and is eager to partner with you in raising you children in the image of Christ.
