Read a Gospel for Lent
Lent is the 40 days— beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending Holy Saturday—that lead up to Easter. Sundays are not included in the 40 days.
Often, people choose to fast from or take something away from their normal habits in order to make more space to be with God during Lent. But Lent is also a great time to add a practice that can draw you closer to God.
If you want to do something for Lent but aren’t sure where to start, reading through one of the Gospels— Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John— and spending time reading about Jesus’s life and earthly ministry is a simple, but meaningful idea.
Go at your own pace, or use one of the reading plans below. Journal or find a friend to discuss what you’ve read. You decide!
Throughout Lent, check here or on our social media for weekly reflections and prompts specifically for the Gospel of John.
