Being on the Impressions team is such a neat opportunity. For some, you may be the first impression of Riverbend! For others, it may be the first time they ever step foot in the church. You have the opportunity to welcome and help people feel at home by greeting them on a Sunday morning. Having a positive interaction can set the tone for the entire morning!

Schedule and Arrival Time

We always create a 2 month schedule a few weeks in advance of serving. If you are unable to serve, please notify the Impressions leader with ample time to find a replacement. As of November 3, 2024, we will be moving to two Gathering times. Please note the arrival times below for each service.

10:30 am service

Greeters-arrive by 10am
Cafe-arrive by 9:45

9am service

Greeters-arrive by 8:30am
Cafe-arrive by 8:15am

11am service

Greeters-arrive by 10:30am
Cafe-arrive by 10:15am

Roles and Expectations

Impressions lead

Please look at the schedule posted inside the kitchen door. It tells you which door everyone will be greeting at. Please check to see if anyone has questions as to where they are serving
Offering-Offering baskets are located underneath the seat of the first row. Please assign greeters to aisles before the service so everyone knows where to go when the offering time comes. Once the offering in collected, place all of the money inside the offering baskets in the back of the church

Signs

Please put the 2 sandwich board signs out at either door and point them arrows toward the main entrance. Please collect the sign after the service.

Greeters

Please find your name tag and go to your assigned door (there is a map below to explain where each door is)
Please be at your door as people start to arrive
Welcome everyone
Help find seats if needed
If we are serving communion, please hand out communion. During the service you may need to hand out communion to anyone who missed it earlier.
Offering-The Impressions leader will let you know which aisle to collect the offering in. Once it is collected, the Impressions leader will put all the money into the offering box together.

Cafe

Please make coffee and put out snacks before the service. Check on coffee throughout the service. When the service is over, please clean up.

Help with offering time

Family room greeter

Briefly tidy/prep the Family Room before and after the service
Welcome any families/individuals using the space (typically doing this before and after sermon time)
Provide communion supplies to individuals on communion Sunday
Give gift bags to first time guests

Where you will serve

When you arrive on a Sunday morning, you will be assigned to a specific door to serve at. There will be a map and schedule posted inside the cafe kitchen door. Below is a copy of the map you will see. You will also find your name tag behind the door in the kitchen.
